Between Boston and Berlin - an Irish blog for TMO magazine

About Brendan Coffey

At the age of just 24 years Brendan Coffey has already established himself as a leading Irish sports journalist and is the youngest sports editor in the country, currently sports editor of the award-winning Kildare Nationalist Sport Section.

Having worked in media and press since the age of 15, he has covered some of the top Irish sports events. As a result, in April 2007 he was recruited by the Irish Examiner, which is now renowned for its superb sports section, before taking up his current position in October 2007.

He has written for all the leading Irish daily and Sunday newspapers and is now a feature writer and blogger with Three Monkeys Online magazine.

Brendan started out working with his local paper in Maynooth while still in secondary school and steadily progressed through the ranks, working with the Leinster Leader, the Kildare Nationalist and freelancing for all the national Irish newspapers. He graduated with an honours degree in Law and Accounting from the University of Limerick in 2006 but his passion for sports writing brought him back to his first love.

He was eager to return to full time journalism and having done so his interest in the Sports field has excelled. He is now the GAA reporter and match commentator for KFM radio station and is in regular contact with the leading sports people of Ireland.
