London rockers Palma Violets have premiered their new video for the track Rattlesnake Highway, taken off their debut album 180 (out now on Rough Trade Records).
The video, in black and white and using live footage which cements Palma Violets reputation as one of the most exciting live bands around, was directed by Douglas Hart; Hart was a founding member of the Jesus and Mary Chain (he played the bass in the band), andhas become a leading director whose work includes videos for the likes of My Bloody Valentine, Babyshambles, Primal Scream and the Vaccines.
The band have sent a note (via their facebook page) to fans, acknowledging their contribution to the video:
It’s the rampant and shameless spirit from all of you that’s thickened the air in every show and perpetuated the force of brash, pugnacious and debased effrontery.
Every single one of you thats been there; dancing screaming, contributing to the cacophony, you deserve a tip of the hat and hopefully you’ll get some of that from the new vid.
