Looking for Bologna’s best airport hotels? There are various reasons why you may want to stay close to the airport – even though Bologna is a reasonably compact city, and the Marconi Airport is a short car ride from the city centre. Maybe you have business in the industrial hinterland around Bologna, or maybe you need to comute quickly between the Fiera exhibition centre; maybe you just have an early flight or a late-night arrival. For whatever reason, you’re in luck because Bologna has a number of top-class hotels near its airport, to suit various different budget ranges. We’ve put together a quick list to help you choose.
Take note, though, that – as with many other cities – Bologna’s airport is in a fairly desolate area, so for the nearest hotels you’ll have to depend upon all of their facilities for your comfort. There are, though, a number of hotels in the nearby area of Borgo Panigale which offer a nice compromise between being close to the airport, and yet close to local restaurants.

This modern and comfortable hotel is about 1.5km from the airport terminal, and offers a free shuttle service which runs roughly every fifteen minutes. Its facilities include a 24hr front desk, free wi-fi, restaurant and bar, kids menus, garden, terrace, and fitness centre. Pets are welcome free of charge.

Via Marco Emilio Lepido 195, 40132 Bologna, Italy
This clean and professional three star hotel, located about 2.5km from the airport in Borgo Panigale (near the Ducati Museum) has 23 rooms each with air conditioning, Wi-Fi access, and an LCD TV, and offers good value close to the airport. It has free car parking, and while it doesn’t have a restaurant it does offer clients discounts in a number of nearby restaurants. There is an airport shuttle service, although there is a surcharge for the service.

This cheap and cheerful hotel is very popular with Airport travellers, offering 48 non-smoking rooms with satellite TV, free private parking, and free Wi-Fi. The hotel has no restaurant (though it does have a bar), but it has a number of restaurants and a supermarket nearby. It’s located about 2.5km from the airport and offers a shuttle service for a surcharge.

An alternative to a regular hotel is this lovely, bright 2 bedroom appartment which sleeps up to 4 adults. The appartment is roughly 2km from the airport, and 3.9km from Bologna’s city centre. It offers a full kitchen, bedrooms and modern living room. On the downside, it doesn’t include car parking and pets are not allowed.
