Vandana Shiva is a leading environmentalist and anti-globalization activist. At the festival of dangerous ideas in Sydney, in 2013, Shiva gave this lengthy and empassioned speech explaining why the framework of G.D.P (Gross Domestic Product) through which we measure economic activity is a deeply dangerous framework.

It's a speech that goes from broad ideas, quoting for example Robert Kennedy's famous speech on GDP in 1968, through to specific on-the-ground examples (largely from India). Hugely important, and hopefully hugely influential.
